Gulf Coast Filters, Inc. has over 40 years of experience in the engine oil and diesel fuel filtration industry. Charlie Sims began the family business in the 1970’s, incorporating Gulf Coast Filters, Inc. in 1981 and was very passionate about his business and the people he served. His motto was simple, “Home of Filters that Really Work”. After Charlie’s passing in 2004 the Sims family continued the tradition of excellence in filtration through dedication and hard work.
Today, Gulf Coast Filters is led by Steven “Steve” Barras who began his career with Gulf Coast Filters under Charlie Sims in 1986. Barras was a second-generation offshore boat business owner at that time. It was through extreme difficulties experienced because of contaminated diesel fuel that he sought out a “solution.” Steve found that solution in Gulf Coast Filters, soon purchasing and installing them on all of his offshore vessels. Charlie quickly saw Steve’s keen interest in GCF products and made him an “Honorary Distributor”. Thirty-seven years later as President and Owner of Gulf Coast Filters, Inc., Barras continues to lead GCF with the same passion.
